Beyond the shot, is a warmth

Baby Photography ~ Kansas City

I know you’ve seen this little model before.  She’s kinda hard to forget!  Little Maven is literally growing up before our very eyes on the blog.  She loves the camera and the camera loves her!  Prepare for uncontrollable ahh’s complete with squenchy eyebrows.

Cute smile complete with tongue and adorable monkey.

Maven gets her happy demeanor and big smile from her mom Lesle.  I love working with Lesle and her husband Matt, always good times.

Her little hands will only be this adorable for a short amount of time.

This picture says princess to me!

She loves looking into the camera which is awesome.  I am really good at getting kids to smile until I go back behind my camera then they give me this look.  Hey where did that lady go?

There she is.  Haha I love it!   There are 90+ pics of beautiful Maven equally as cute.  If you want to see more, just drop me a message.  Lesle and Matt thanks again for letting me take your pictures! I can’t wait to see Maven again in a few months.  She’s just changing so much, I love being the one to capture it.

Engagement Session~ Jamie and Tim

Jamie and Tim are getting married this coming weekend and I’m so excited!  Let me tell you why.  Jamie and I have become such good friends this year with the wedding planning and the venting about our oh so busy lives!   So, I knew and loved Jamie way before I met Tim.  When we were planning for their engagement session this spring I was eager to meet the man in Jamie’s life.  I knew he had to be great.  And he was.

Jamie is all spunk and lively happy energy, while Tim is quiet and patient, and down for any and all of Jamie’s cute antics.  Sound familliar.  It should to all of you out there that know Jon and I.  They are a great match!

When I take pictures of couples it’s hard not to notice and feel the depth of the relationship.  I think with this serious of photos we captured their love.  I hope you agree.

On this particular day we were lucky enough to have the greyest, most washed out, blah sky ever!  BOOOO, but we managed to make it happen and the good news.  No ugly shadows.

Besides who needs a pretty sky when you’ve got these hotties to brighten it up!

Jamie has the most brilliant eyes!

Yup it started raining.  Adorable.  I wonder what they’re doing under there?

Bling Bling!

This is their little girl Ivy.  She’s hilarious and was very obidient but a little worried about her mamma and papa the whole time.  She was always nearby, quietly watching and waiting.

Winston on the other hand was never nearby.  In typical Jack Russell style he was always out doing whatever he wanted.  We literally lost him several times, but he made it home muddy paws and all.   Totally opposite personalities here!  Ivy and Winston really are their babies, but I have no doubt that in the near future real babies will take away from the attention theses four legged friends get.

Really Jamie and Tim are all about having fun!  By this time it was really raining and time to go, but of course Jamie jumped on his back.  Adorable, and fun!

I can’t wait to shoot this weeding this weekend.  This love story is to be continued…

Maternity Pictures~ Kansas City Photographer

These are pictures of Elizabeth and her perfect belly.  Elizabeth came to me from Miami.  Not Miami Florida, Miami MO.  I am so happy she found me and let me capture the love she has for her baby and husband.  Our time together was filled with lots of laughing and amazing conversation.  Elizabeth is a horsey lover like myself.  She actually trains Arabians and is very competitive.

This is her husband Nick and he was so awesomly adorable during our shoot.  I said it, it might not be a word, but it fits Nick.  There were tons of amazing pics of the two of them.  I just couldn’t even pick so I decided to share this adorable one with you.

Elizabeth is stunning. I mean really who gets to look this great preggers!  Amazing!

Tomorrow I get to take pictures of their new baby boy and I can’t wait!  Thank you guys for letting me be a part of your awesome experience!

5 fabs and 5 drabs

Every now and then I open my eyes and realize all kind of craziness is happening around me.  I mean seriously fabulous things, and seriously drab things.  So I decided every now and then I should document these monumental moments in my life.  Ok mostly not monumental, but still important.  Somewhat important anyway.  Here are my 5 fabs for the week…

*Went to lunch at Gingers on the square in Liberty.  Good food, and better company.  Thanks Jamie.

*Played 4 hours of tennis!

*Went to the Designer showhouse.  Favorite one in years!

*Discovered my new favorite snack.  A flat wrap with Mozzarella and salami microwave for a few secs.  Just a little party in my mouth.

And the fab of the week… drum roll xmas vacation style please…

*My dad washed my car for me!  Inside and out!!!  YAY!

And sadly enough my 5 drabs…

*Lost was a rerun.

*Layla woke up in the middle of the night and puked yellow stuff on the floor, what a treat.

*The people racing on I-70.  Scary.

*Hitting myself in the eye with my tennis raquet.  I’ll only say this once if you ask or notice my bump I will tell you Jon threw his raquet and hit me.

*Got peed on in a shoot this weekend by a newborn.  I will say this one is funny.  The little guy peed 3 times during our shoot one of which was on me.  I do love my job!

Looking over this list I realize most of this happened this weekend. I am a busy girl, but I had a lot of fun doing what I do!  I hope everyone had a great weekend!  Lots of love!!!!!

Al

PS  If you’re having Monday blues just think it could look like this outside!  Just a few short months ago it did!

Ahhh… Looking at these pictures makes me so happy to be alive!  Today is was sunny, 70 and flawless in KC.  A perfect day for something outside.

Children Photography~ Kansas City

Meet the Yoders!  There are two things I love about this picture.  First the obvious adorable family.  Second the great wardrobe selection.  I am a MU grad and will always have tiger pride good times, and bad.  MIZ

This is baby Claire, and she really is this adorable in person.  She was crawling all over the place during our shoot in this particular shot she just happened to look up and give me the “What’s up” look.

Do you even need comments for this pic.  She’s adorable.  Especially the big bow.

What’s that you say?  Oh yah I know.

Look at me mom I’m standing up!   Just one and already independent.  Watch out world.

You would have thoughts she just stuck her hands in a bag of fun dip, but no somehow fingers always taste good when you’re just one.

And now you know where Claire gets it.  Amy is an amazing mommy.

What we didn’t realize is that little Claire was actually getting sick.  I had a hunkering because she was up and down the whole shoot and desperately hungry for those little foamy things.  What are they called.  They look and feel funny, but taste decent.  I had to post this because, well it’s just cute.  Poor Claire.  I promise we won’t use this one in your graduation slideshow.   haha JK

Amy, Colby and Claire I had so much fun taking your pictures even though you weren’t feeling your best Claire.  I can’t wait to take some more when little baby two arrives.  wink wink  Thanks guys.  Lots of love!
